FAQS

Frequently asked questions

Can I receive an examination if BUCS is not my provider and not in my plan?

You can receive an examination if BUCS is not your provider. There would be a standard charge, but depending on your type of insurance, the visit often can be reimbursed by your insurance company. We can also give you a “Superbill” so that you can submit the charge to your insurance company.

How are you different than your basic trained internal medicine doctor?

Dr. Grossman received his MD from New York Medical College and is residency trained in both General Surgery and Emergency Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The advantage to the patient over an internist or generalist is that Dr. Grossman can competently manage individual patients on a continuum. He can treat all the major afflictions i.e.: Diabetes, Heart disease, hypertension, to name a few. In addition to this, he is better at recognizing and treating acute presentations of known as well as unknown illnesses and injurie. His extensive experience with critical patients is invaluable when arranging transfer to a higher level of care because he speaks the language of the ER.

Will BUCS perform extensive blood testing and skillfully evaluate nuanced findings of those tests?

We work closely with COTG 2021, a clinical laboratory outfit on-site. A highly trained and experienced phlebotomist (someone who takes blood from the patients’ veins) will draw blood samples from your veins. We can run some of the labs on site. When specimens are sent out. Results are ready within 24–48 hours.
